Death, Coffee and Desserts!

This is what we call the space we create for our community to feel self expressed and supported.

Today was a special day where Chaplain Kiem, who also has his Doctorate in Theology, facilitated and led the group to share some of the deepest thoughts around death.

Below are some insights and quotable quotes (around death) from our participants:

“We just go back to the source from where we came from.”

“The fear of the unknown is what scares people of death. Acceptance of death is what I want to share in this world. Death is a beautiful process of letting go. “

“Sometimes, on my bad days, I hope I don’t wake up in the morning. I know where I am going and I know my family and our 21 year old son who passed away in a car crash will welcome us in heaven.”

“I was there to pick up my husband when he died suddenly. I’m alone now, so who’s gonna pick me up when I die?”

“The happiest/luckiest people I know are people that know that when they die, they are going to go to heaven so I need to start hanging out with people who are more spiritual. I hold a Doctorate, but never read the Bible. I’m looking for Heaven.”

“In my final hour, I want to be surrounded by joy, music and family, not sadness. Up-lifiting music, but not Hip-Hop.”
